Katy grew up in British Columbia, Canada. It was there she had her first child and was inspired by experience. She felt called to support and care for women in their health care journey. She moved from Canada to Washington where she graduated with her ADN from Centralia College in 2007.

Much of Katy’s nursing career was in a rural hospital, Providence Centralia Hospital, as a nurse in the Family Birth Center. In this role she cared for women across the continuum of labor, delivery, and postpartum.

 

In 2017, her family made the move to Arizona where she continued her career as a labor nurse at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center. Here, surrounded by midwives and seeing the difference they made, she decided to further her education. She was accepted to Frontier Nursing University and completed their master’s program with her midwifery degree in 2022. She is excited to be a part of the outstanding midwifery team here at True Harmony.

 

When she is not working, Katy likes to spend time with her three children. They enjoy road trips, skiing, or just playing in the pool. She also enjoys traveling with friends and tries to get to Washington and Canada as often as she can.
